Note that the NA 3.0L develops 700 hp, wonder if it would fit in a Alfa
spider?

Ferrari will offer an authentic Formula One engine for sale at the Ferrari
Shop in Maranello today, the same day that the team will unveil the new
F2003.

The unit on offer is the 047, which powered the 1998 F300 that Ferrari used
to finish second in both the drivers and constructors Championships. The
047 is a V10, featuring an 80-degree vee-angle and 2997cc capacity, capable
of 700 horsepower.

Ferrari is offering only one of these engines for sale but the price,
expected to be high considering the unit is complete and operational, will
be available only on application at the Ferrari Shop.

The 047 was the third in the line of Ferraris 3.0 litre V10 Formula One
engines. The marque switched to the ten-cylinder configuration in 1996 after
struggling to generate adequate torque from the peaky V12 powerplant.
