GTV-6 fans

Hello Folks,
   Both my 82 and 84 GTV-6 left fans come on only when the A/C is on. Same 
for a 77 Alfetta I owned several years ago. Never seen the left go on 
otherwise. When the Alfetta's right fan went bad I had to turn on the A/C 
switch to make the left fan come on in traffic or it would overheat.
