GTV wheels & rear windows
Eleven years ago my 73 GTV was restored with Shankle Supersport F&R springs
& swaybars & orange Konis.I bought a new set of 15x7 Panasports with 30mm
offset-intending to mount them with Yokohama 205/50-15 autocross tires.I had
one tire mounted and test-fitted it on the GTV without clearance
problems-but it was tight. The wheels unfortunately were warped, and my
supplier informed me that there weren't any more 30mm offset 15x7s on the
shelf. If I was in a hurry for wheels there were 24mm available or I could
wait a month or so for a 30 mm set.I stupidly got impatient, ordered the 24mm
set, fitted one with the tire and it rubbed-I forget whether it was front or
rear or inside or outside.
There's only a 1/4 inch difference in offset between the 2 different 15x7
Panasports I tried on my car.I expect every Alfa(especially older ones )sits
a little differently. The point here is that if you want to use 15x7s on a
115 GTV that's been lowered-wheel offset and tire width become critical.
With regard to GTV rear windows,I have somehow managed to acquire
somewhere between 4 and 6 of them over the years(some are clear, some are
green, and I think all have defroster wires).I collected them thinking that I
was one brickthroughthewindow away from catastrophe.I still have them all.If
anyone ever needs a rear window-let me know.
