Re: blistered lids



OK.
 What is the purpose of the underhood insulation?   Is it noise reduction,
paint protection, esthetic kitsch, or some unknown (or unknowable) Alfa
rationale?  Giulietta's and Giulia's I have owned had the underhood quilt,
though often they suffered from road grime and dents from contact with
engine plumbing.

IMO,  looks great, probably doesn't affect engine cooling, and it's one more
thing on the Alfa "do" list.
