Spider spoiler removal

I'm getting ready to paint my 1987 Spider, and I've decided to go with a
cheaper paint shop, since I'm just looking for a driver that is presentable,
not a concours-quality job. To try to maximize the results from this,
however, I'm going to strip off as much of the trim myself as I can, to
avoid overspray wherever possible.

How do the rear spoiler pieces come off? They look like they are just glued
on, so do I just get a screwdriver and pry them off? I removed all the
glued-on badges by dragging a piece of fishing line underneath them, which
worked perfectly, but it's not going to cut it on the spoiler :)

Also, if I'm just supposed to pry them off, is there a serious risk of
damaging the pieces - particularly the end caps?

Thanks in advance,
