1991 Spider Veloce Starter Problem - help

Tim;

The ignition switch is not that hard to change. The knee bolster can be
removed by, if I remember correctly, about 4 or 5 bolts. You will need to
remove the radio by using the "U" shaped brackets that came with the car, it
just pulls out and then disconnect the wires and the antenna. BE SURE YOU HAVE
THE CODE BEFORE DISCONNECTING OR YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET IT TI WORK AGAIN.

Once the knee bolster is removed just remove the housing around the steering
column and the remove the switch. The hardest part will be removing the screw
that holds the switch in because the twist the head off so someone can't pull
it out and use a screw driver to start the car.

Good luck

I then had someone turn the ignition key while testing voltage from the
ignition switch wire. No voltage. So the problem seems definitely to be
either the ignition switch itself, or the wire coming from the ignition
switch. Although the suggestion from Ralph F. regarding the transmission
interlock switch is interesting because this vehicle does indeed have an
automatic transmission. I will have to test for that.

I'm hoping the ignition switch is not at fault as it looks a bear to remove.
  That re-wired starter button option is looking good right now!
