Progress

The weekend gave me some time to get back to work disassembling the
engine and with it now mounted on the stand I was able to make some good
progress. The pan, oil pump, main bearing caps and timing cover are all
off the car and have been cleaned in the solvent tank.

I'm down to only the flywheel side main bearing (which is mortised in
the block) and the crank timing gear. I don't know if removing the
woodruff key from the front of the crank will allow the intermediate
timing gear to come off the crank or not. Do I need to use a puller?

Also, has anyone a good clean method for removing that #5 main bearing
cap?
