It is my understanding that the 164 twinspark is a Fiat-built iron
block
motor and the 75 twinspark is the final development of the Alfa
aluminum
block motor.

Hi Lawrence,
That is incorrect. The 164 first came with the 1962cc TS engine and
later got the 1995cc TS engine. Both were all aluminum DOHC 8V TS. But
the latter had a better cylinder head.
If you are referring to the 1970cc DOHC TS 16V engine, that first
appeared in the 155.
