Milano rear brakes

Hi:
Finally got the rear brake pads out but the problem has taken a turn for the
worse. The left rotor is toast---severely gouged by a metal pad and a leak has
started at the left outside adjusting nut. It appears a new rotor and caliper
are in order. Looks like a nightmare job to replace all that. Have had
thoughts about blocking off the brake fluid to that unit and saying to hell
with it. Any wise thoughts or suggestions about this sticky problem.
