Ryan,
Just had to figure this out myself. The top end of the door pull is anchored 
behind the top panel by a pin that fits in a slotted metal bracket. After you 
have removed the screws securing the arm rest to the door, remove the side 
vent louver at the top front of the upper door panel (1 screw) and pull away 
the bottom of the top door panel. The manual says there are two screws 
securing the panel but they were missing on my car. Pull the upper panel and 
the armrest up as a unit. The pin will soon come free of the slotted bracket 
and you will be able to remove the armrest. You can then proceed to remove 
the upper panel.
