Hello all -

Milkshake in the breather system can simply be a result of repeated short
trips. It's normal that a little water gets into the oil and is driven off
in the form of vapor as the engine heats up. Repeated short trips allow the
water/oil mix to accumulate in the breather, just like repeated short trips
can cause the exhaust system to rust out from the inside.

A few years ago, I had a '64 1200cc Beetle (air cooled, of course) that was
used almost exclusively for the 3-4 mile trip to and from work. Guess what -
there was often 'milkshake' on the dipstick in the morning !

So give it a few nice long tune-ups and check again.
