"76" or "77"

Fred,
My "76 has a birth date of 11/75. It also has an "Exhaust Temp" warning that
comes on for abut 2 seconds when I start her up.
It's a 49 state model with no cat.(why the light?) I'm the third owner, the
first had it till "97" and the second did a spit "n" polish restore then
sold it to me
after 10 mos of ownership so I think it's original. 
Is yours a 49 state or a califonia model?
 
BTW, Anyone out there familiar with or the cars history or original owner,
Jacques Rajotte ? 
Attourney I think, lived in Oregon. There are a lot of little mods to the
car,
split exhaust manifold, relays "n" such. I'd like to know what's under the
hood for sure.
