Re: cold starts in Toronto



Charlie,

Thanks for your post and it sparks a question about "blow the plenum".  In
his 91 164, my son had hard starting (resulting in too much cranking) to the
point of fuel coming out of the AFM from the plenum.  Immediate problem was
the FPregulator.  Replaced that and the car runs fine.  Shortly after
replacing the FPR, started having problem with the brake booster servo.  You
can hear it sucking air when the brakes are applied - idle goes down I guess
because the vacume is lowered.   I think the booster is bad but could this
also be related to your "blown plenum"?
