Re: 1750 rebuild
$4200 doesn't sound unreasonable for a rebuild using new
pistons/liners/rings/pins, main, rod and thrust bearings, upper and lower
timing chains, all valves, valve guides, springs, piston pin bushings,
connecting rod hardware, oil pump and gaskets. Sublet work should include
magnafluxing the crank and rods and preparing the crank journals and rod big
and small ends. The greatest time is going to be in setting up the main
bearing bores and rod big end bores so that the bearing clearance is
optimal, then the head work. The more I type, the more reasonable it sounds!
