Restoration Shops - Philadelphia Area

Using the same subject heading as Joe Fillip's, he goes on to ask: "Can
any of you ("yous", for those of you who reside in or near Philadelphia)
recommend a good body/paint/restoration shop in the vicinity of
Philadelphia?"

*********

Purely out of curiosity do you want a body / paint shop or a restoration
shop? Body paint shops do bodywork and painting. (Most) restoration
shops handle every component of the restoration process - body and paint
work being only one aspect of the entire restoration. I personally (sort
of) joke, "Got the damn body and paint work done, now I can start
restoring the client's car."

Many individuals (especially those selling their car) feel a fresh paint
job, new seat covers, and (if applicable) a new top constitutes a 100%
ground-up restoration. They are incorrect.

The 101 Spider in my shop which will be picked up and driven home by the
owner in the next few days has been in the shop a few weeks short of two
years. The dismantling, cleaning up, body, and paint work took around 4
months. As one might imagine, there were a few other things to attend to
in the ensuing 20 months.

Don't mean to pick on you (but figured I could get away with it since
I'm not in Philly), but Please, those of you selling your cars, be
realistic as to what has been done (and especially what hasn't) and
don't use the restored word if all you did was have a few of the major
problem areas taken care of.
