I switched out the rear springs on my 78 Spider with either IAP or
Centerline (whoever sells the yellow ones) sport springs. I initially
did only the rears because the tail end was sagging badly and I was too
broke to do them all. Probably two years passed before I got around to
spending the time and money on a matching set for the front. No
problems in between. The car handled a little better after replacing
the rears, but after replacing the fronts as well it was like suddenly
driving a sports car!
If yours is dragging ass then it is definitely time to replace. If
not, then they are probably fine unless you just want to tighten it up
a little.
