On a totally different subject recently made this comment (or something
like it) to the 750-101 group, "I'm constantly amazed at what areas of
Alfa restoration some consider to be virtually sacred then turn around
and make 'necessary' modifications' to their cars."

I have to admit, I'm guilty of these inconsistencies.

Not remotely a 'proper' restoration, but I have plastic badges with
Milano on them on my '75 Alfetta GT. Certainly on my own car I don't
play to an audience but I can, however, point to the Milano portion when
people ask, "So where's Alfa Romeo's made?" True, it's incorrect
information, but since what they want to really know is 'which country',
does it really matter?

Have to give John H. credit for airing his views on aspects of Pat
Braden's books in #15. Even though Braden's book on Weber carbs has
demystified them somewhat for me, I have talked with an individual who
helped edit the book before publication. He also was more than a bit
frustrated with the final results.
