Re: GTV6 Windshield Washer Motor, Door Latch

John, it sounds like the latch post on the B-pillar needs to be adjusted
outboard. If you have recently fitted new doorseals (especially
aftermarket ones), if you have disturbed the door hinges (new pins or moved
the hinges), or if you have disturbed the latch itself, the door may be
trying to squeeze the seals too much. Move the post out just slightly and
you may find the door will close, and with no need to slam it. A lot of
the time slamming the door results in the door bouncing open before the
latch can close (as you state). IIt also damages the innards (yours and the
door !!)

(Might as well cram two, or three, unrelated subjects into one message)

Door latch
Then there is the driver's side door latch. It works fine 60 or 70% of
the time but then seems to take spells where it won't latch tightly. It
latches in what we used to call the "safety position," not fully closed.
