Re: 164 thermnostat



OK, here's what I find:

The 164 T-stat is <nearly> the same as the GTV6/Milano (and may be the
same as the Verde) -- the physical difference is that the air-bleed is on
the other side of the fitting (highest point on the canted engine) -- I'm
sure they can be interchanged in a pinch.  (The temp spec seems to be
188/87, which may be higher.)  Intergal with that upper fitting.  3 bolts.

It is <not> necessary to take everything apart to change (at least if one
is careful not to disturb the lower side of the central piece below the
thermostat -- one gasket is then enough [and the old one may be OK]).

On at least mine, the temp rarely reached as high as 175, and the T-stat
was open at room temperature....the replacement makes the heater work a
little better.....
