Sebring Race Weekend / Car for Sale



For all you poor guys up North in your winter "off" season, the 2003 race 
season has started for us in the So. East.  The GT-2 Alfa came back from 
Sebring with 3 first place trophies for the weekend, with impressive overall 
finishes with Bob Lembcke driving the car for the first time.   The short 
'club course" gave the lighter cars an edge with the overall win in the 3rd 
race Sunday afternoon going to the GT-1 Mazda of Ray Halen.  
The Alfa is now Seriously for sale, I`ve listed the specs below and am asking 
$15,000.00 for it & all the spares.  Will sell with only one gearbox, and 
limited spares for $12,500.00.  The car is ready to race, It won the 2002 
SARRC GT-2 Championship this year.  (11-1st, 2-2nds, 1-3rd, 2 - 4ths, no DNFs 
in 2002)
CHASSIS:
1985 Alfa Romeo GTV-6 
reconfigured to GT-2 specifications by Rabbit Davis Fabricators, Pensacola, 
Fl. Engine moved back & hard mounted so that 1st sparkplug is aligned with 
front spindles.  Body lightened & flares hand rolled from lightweight steel.  
Aluminum bulkheads, and steel firewall.  Lexan windshield, side, and rear 
windows. Aluminum rear hatch and doors. Two 8 gallon fuel cells, halon fire 
system.  Autometer gauges , shift and warning lights. Tilton petal assembly, 
with brake bias adjustor.  Kirkey race seat with padded cover, 5 point race 
harness. Full cage carries ahead of radiator for chassis reinforcement. 
Aluminum radiator and two oil coolers with Aeroquip hoses. Moroso catch tanks 
& Radiator fill bottle.  16,  9.5 x 13 rims with Goodyear 23.5x 10x13 
tires.(4 of which were grooved by Goodyear for rain tires).  4, 10 x 15 rims 
with Yokohama 265x35x15 Intermediates mounted. Weight without driver with 
full fuel load 2020 lbs. (legal race weight with driver 2180).
FRONT SUSPENSION:
Modified Milano lower arm with 36 mm hollow European Touring Car Championship 
Torsion bars. Wildwood (Dynalite)vented Brakes & rotors with air ducts from 
headlight ports, (two per side) Modified Alfa 105 spindle uprights, with 
Coleman Racing, Rack & Pinion Steering with spherical rod ends & Alum. Tubes. 
  Hubs  are 4 on 4.25 bolt pattern (Ford) with  2 inch wheel studs. 1.25 inch 
swaybar with rod end attachment. Koni adjustable shocks. Upper arm with rod 
ends and adjustable caster link with rod ends.
REAR SUSPENSION:
Modified DeDion tube suspension. 4 on 4.25 hubs with 5/8, 3 inch studs. All 
suspension points are spherical bearings(watts link, pivot, and DeDion 
bushing). Adjustable spring perches with 2.25 ID springs. Koni Adjustable 
shocks.
.750 inch sway bar with rod end attachment to DeDion tube. Vented rear rotors 
with ATE racing callipers. Adjustable Watts links.
TRANSAXLE:
Two racing transaxles using aluminum flywheel, with aluminum Milano pressure 
plate and 4 puc race disk. Gear Ratios:
Short box.  1.72, 1.34, 1.04, .95, .83 with 4.10 Ring & Pinion & Modified 
limited slip (4 disk)
Long box.  1.96, 1.38, 1.04  .95, .83 with 3.54 Ring & Pinion & Modified 
Limited Slip(4 disk)
ENGINE:
3.0 liter Alfa motor . Stock Crank, rods & pistons. Rods & Pistons balanced, 
New "S" pistons & liners installed Jan.02. Alfa Sei 2.5 heads ported, with 
large Stainless valves & Isky springs. Cams to own design made by Web 
Cams(one spare set new unused). Compression ratio 14 to 1. Three 50 DCOE 
Weber carbs on custom manifold.  Custom Headers with 1.625 primary tubes.
