RE: Tires f/ Spiders, P6000s/RE950s

FWIW, I've been told you can't compare wear ratings between different brands, they are relative indicators within that brand. There is no universal standard.

In reality, the Brickstone RE950's may indeed last twice as long as the Pirelli P6000s, but you can't make that claim by the wear ratings alone.

I am in need of new shoes for the Milano. And I am leaning toward the AVSi again since they are so cheap these days. At roughly $50/tire are there other tires that offer better bang for the bucks?

I ran the Pirelli P6000s in 196/65-14 for 4 or so years, and loved them, but
they did wear more quickly than I wanted. I ran on the track twice a year,
[just touring], and with that and regular commuting, they were worn pretty
smooth in less than 20k miles. I just put a set of RE950s on, same size,

that they will perform well as they wear, unlike the Pirellis. They are
also rated 400 on wear, which is more than double the Pirellis. Honestly if
I had been able to buy the P6000s again in that size, I would have, but so
far I am happy with the switch to Bridgestone.
