Spider, Autmatic Trans Questions

If anyone has some experience with the Auto
transmissions used in the series 4 spiders, can you
please contact me off digest, I have a couple of
questions regarding the type of transmission used, and
whether this transmission was used in any other cars
at the time (I.E. can I get one from a different model
car)
