RE: Tires f/ Spiders, P6000s/RE950s

Hi folks,

Re: Tires for Spiders in 195/65-14 size:

I ran the Pirelli P6000s in 196/65-14 for 4 or so years, and loved them, but
they did wear more quickly than I wanted. I ran on the track twice a year,
[just touring], and with that and regular commuting, they were worn pretty
smooth in less than 20k miles. I just put a set of RE950s on, same size,
and would dispute the noise complaint reported by others, at least so far.
I find them smooth and pretty quiet on the highway, and although its early
yet, the grip feels very good. They also look great, directional tread
design and sidewall, and the new rubber formulation gives me some confidence
that they will perform well as they wear, unlike the Pirellis. They are
also rated 400 on wear, which is more than double the Pirellis. Honestly if
I had been able to buy the P6000s again in that size, I would have, but so
far I am happy with the switch to Bridgestone.

As always, YMMV.
