imo, one of the tings wrong w/suv's is that they don't roll over *nearly enuff*!!!  if they did it more, then mebbe there woodn't be such a plague of them!  ;~)   

regarding the cafe standards, imo they should get rid of *all* of them.  yust increase the gas tax $2-$3 dollars per gallon or so, & the cafe of cars sold in the usa will skyrocket.

   program FRONTLINE titled "Roll Over; The Hidden Secret of the SUV".  Anyone 
   considering purchasing one of these vehicles should be required to view this 
   program.  Anyone who continues with the purchase is clearly certifiable.  The 
   program clearly defines the history of the SUV (beginning with the Bronco II) 
   and its inherent roll over instabillity.  It also clearly shows that federal 
   auto safety regulators (NHTSA) were well aware of the problem and made 
   recommendations for improvement that were quashed by both the Reagan and Bush 
   the elder administrations for political expediency.   Increased fuel economy 
   (CAFE) suffered the same fate.  If this program shows on your local PBS 
   station it would be well worth your time to view it.>>>
