Yes, but Lotuses in general, and the  Seven in particular, have typically
come with "humble" engines, so this is par for the course.  Italian cars
in general, and Alfa in particular, have always distinguished themselves
with their engines.  If GM started to put GM engines in Alfas, it would
be a Bad Thing from a marketing perspective.
