Please, please don't buy a MAC
In #1187 Nick Koleszar makes a few observations on one of my recent
postings to the Digest:
"Wow, Biba, you been on the paint thinners again?
"Can we just start calling you the "Amazing new Cryptique
Ranto-O-Matique"
from Biba Developments?
"When are you gonna put an AR engine in your Magic Bus?
"Take two steps back and say "No!"....
";-)"
*********
Nick, All, was I just simply too subtle?
It was a terribly selfish posting. I don't want you to all run out and
buy Far Superior MAC's so that the bad virus folk out there will start
writing 'programs' for MAC's. I was under the impression MAC's were
impervious to virus's which is apparently not the case. They are much
harder to infect, but not immune. I gather the same is true with Linux.
I suspect all the people writing in regarding virus warnings / comments
to the Digest are on Windows / PC's.
(While it won't) should the percentage of computers switch in that by
far the majority are on MAC's and a smallish minority are on Windows /
PC's, I too (along with other MAC users, including Fred) will have to
start worrying about virus's.
Since I'm casting subtlety aside (for the moment), my earlier post was
meant to be rather tongue in cheek (although I do go through a lot of
lacquer thinner every year).
Should you have been referring to my Alfa engine comments, I'm sorry,
but in a very tiny way I consider myself an Alfa preservationist. I'll
readily admit to literally shivering anytime I hear of someone with the
attitude which goes something like 'Hey, let's see if we can stuff this
here engine into this here hole' - especially if one or the other is an
Alfa product.
Do what you will with 'our' cars, just don't treat them like a joke.
