 The problem with this is that the Verde has taller gearing.   It's
 pretty long legged for the 3.0l as it is.  I don't know if it would be

 worth the effort.
The 2.5 works fine in the '82 and '83 GTV6 with 3.41 final drive.  The
Verde has 3.55 final drive, which is not as tall.  The taller gearing
may not be ideal for the 2.5 (although some people prefer it), but it
should be within reason for the 2.5 motor to deal with.
But in addition to the final drive, doesn't the Verde have appreciably taller ratios in the gearbox itself?
