Well, I don't know about "easy to replace without lowering the De Dion
mounting bracket". On my Sport Sedan the back-seat footwell shrouds
them pretty well, so it's very difficult to see them (the mounts that
support the clutch cover on the crossmember), let alone swing a wrench
on them. It's easy enough to pull the six big bolts that hold the
crossmember, then gently jack up the back of the deDion tube so the
clutch and the crossmember come down enough (an inch or so) so you can
get to the mounts, but I had a nasty struggle getting the crossmember
bolt holes, and the spacers between crossmember and floor, lined up so I
could get those six big bolts started back in.

And of course in my case, three of the four Allen screws came out
easily, but the socket head of the fourth was completely reamed out,
leading to a vice grips battle out in the driveway.
