RE: rattling shifter knob

Here's what I did.  I took the knob off, smeared a light film of axle
grease on the shift lever, squirted a small amount of pure clear GE
silicon into the knob, and reinserted the knob.  The next morning, I
removed the knob, cleaned everything up, reinstalled, and no more
vibration.  I know this sounds cheap but I was not able to find a
replacement knob to my liking.
