Dunno if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the technique for getting in to
first when at a standstill, is to push the lever towards 2nd, but not into
2nd, and then straight into first. If, using this technique, you are still
having problems getting in to first, then your idle speed is too high, your
gear linkage needs attention, your clutch needs attention, your gearbox
mountings need attention or your gearbox needs attention.
