double-clutching

We've established once again that double-clutching is unecessary in relatively modern cars that are in good shape, but I have a question for all the racers out there, particularly all the 116/162 racers that have to worry about excessive gearbox temperatures. Since the synchromesh is a friction mechanism, would not using it (i.e. double-clutching) keep the transaxle any cooler?
