Adjusting Koni Shocks

Vangelis,

To adjust your Koni shocks, you must remove the rubber bumper section from
inside the outer tube: Remove the shock from the car, extend it to it's
maximum length and push a section of coat hanger wire through the holes to
push the bumper out. It's a split circular part that surrounds the shaft, and
it's removal will allow you to push the shock further together and engage the
internal adjustment slot.

To determine the current setting, engage the adjustment slot, then turn the
shock clockwise and count the number of turns until it can not be turned any
more. Then rotate in the opposite direction until the travel is used up. This
will provide the total number of turns from soft to hard, and your original
tightening value can be compared to the overall adjustment. If you were two
turns from hard and the total range was 4 turns, then your original adjustment
was 50% hard.

Once the shock is adjusted, the rubber bumper must be re inserted, and the
shock may be installed on the car.
