Re: alfa-digest V8 #949

Hi Amanda:

Is the starter non-functional (i.e. the engine doesn't turn over when you turn the ignition key to the start position), or does the engine turn over but just doesn't begin to run? If it's the latter, you haven't yet found the reason your Spider won't start. Please clarify the condition of the car, and tell me (us) what year it is. The starter on most years isn't too bad to remove. Just three bolts and a few wires, but on the Bosch-injected cars, things can be a little tough to reach. I know a good source for rebuilt starters, around $100, if it turns out that's the problem.

Dear Alfa Folks,
The saga of a Spider that won't start! Has anyone got any tips or advice on
how to pull a starter off an Alfa Spider? This is the only thing left that
it could be!!! Thank goodness for all of you and your help, over the last
few months!!!!!!
