Before everyone jumps on the bandwagon to criticize the NYT, remember that most local newspapers that report on automobiles are usually advertising pieces in association with the local dealerships in the area, and have no critical content whatsoever. NYT automobile articles are, refreshingly, original content motivated by newsworthiness (Automobiles Section) and trendiness (Styles Section). Despite the occassional factual flaws and disagreements you may have with their opinions and conclusions, NYT auto articles are the next best thing to a copy of Road & Track or AutoWeek.
