Re: Milano - Battery/Charge Indicator Light

Hullo all,

In Digest V8 #917, Jason asked about the charge warning light on his Milano.
Although the exact problem wasn't described, apparently the light is glowing
although Jason's checked that the charging system's working OK.

Jason, this may be another case of the charge-light false-glow issue which
often occurs on various models of Alfas, at least on 105, 116 and AlfaSud
models to my knowledge. For the basic info on how to check for (and deal
with) this, you could have a glance at a recent posting I made on the
topic..... this was in Digest no.908, date 11th July, Subject: Spider
Alternator Lamp Faint Glow. Maybe the Milano has this same "feature"? Drop
us a line if we can help further.

Best regards,
Graham Hilder,

Subject: Milano - Battery/Charge Indicator Light

I recently bought a Milano Verde and have been steadily fixing the car up. I
am down to two idiot dash lights, the battery/charge light and the brake
light. I think I got the brake light covered as my brake fluid sensor is not
there, however the battery/charge light I do not know how to track down.

Does anybody have a quick outline of what I should look for to track down
the source of the battery/charge idiot light? I have checked the system for
charging and it is charging. Also the battery is fairly new I don't believe
that is the problem.

Thanks.
