help: gtv6 seat mounts
i need some help from the collective mind. a previous owner of my gtv6
removed the original seats and replaced them with some hacked up seats from
a lancia (or so i'm told). i have no idea why. i do know that they did a
terrible job. the nut that anchors the front left corner of the driver's
seat is missing, so the whole seat rocks around quite a bit. as a result,
it failed the VA state inspection yesterday.
from looking at the front right anchor, it appears that what's missing on
the left is a 1/2 inch square nut that's somehow fitted into a 1/2 inch
square hole in the floor. i plan on taking the bolt to a hardware store to
see if i can find a nut that'll fit it, but i'm not sure about exactly how
the nut is secured to the floor. is it somehow press-fitted into it?
does anyone out there have any experience with this sort of thing? if i
can't magically find exactly the right nut, does anyone have any suggestions
as to how i can secure the seat so it doesn't move around?
also missing are the rubber or nylon or whatever spacers that fit between
the lower part of the seat rails and the top of the rear anchors. any ideas
for a source for those?
many thanks in advance, all.
