Re: Milano steering rack removal

The quickest and least maddening way to remove a steering rack on either a
GTV6 or Milano is to pull the engine first. Remove hood, rent or buy shop
crane (Harbor Freight has one on sale), disconnect assorted wires and hoses,
etc. -- removing the rack with the engine out takes half an hour at worst.
Plus, this process gives you the opportunity to degrease & clean the engine
and under-hood area.

Installing the replacement rack is vastly simplified, as well.

This might sound extreme, but trust me when I state that you'll feel better
when you're done than if you take any other route. The engine removal method
takes about as long but you're left with more sanity.
