I didn't think the Alfetta had a double-plate clutch, but I could be wrong. 
The important issue is the different shift linkage.  You'll have to put the 
Milano's gear selector shaft in the Alfetta transaxle so that you can hook 
it up to the Milano's shifter.  But before you do anything, make sure that 
your Milano tranny isn't just shifting around do to a broken mount and 
grinding the driveshaft against something. (Are you sure the handbrake 
cable isn't tangled up in the rear giubo?)
