164 engine heat entering cabin

I don't know if this a myth, but I was told that "those little blocks are
important - apparently there is an air temp sensor behind the firewall, and
the absence of those blocks [fitted to prevent airflow up the hood channels]
can cause the aircon to act erratically"

This came from an Alfa specialist (service agent) with many years
experience. Sounds plausible/boloney in equal amounts. But it has stuck in
my mind since he went to such great lengths to point them out on my 164.
