With all due respect to your professional skills and what you do, Eric, the
theory behind virtually ANY government bureaucracy is a very poor joke, at
best, one way or another.

The proof of the pudding in this case: why, if the car manufacturers are
forced to follow the letter of the EPA regulations perfectly have GM (to
pick a target where you are not conflicted) not been FORCED to follow the
letter of the EPA rule which requires full disclosure of the source code
for all of their various ecu's to the EPA (where, of course, it would be
available for perusal by all via the freedom of information act) ???? (This
not so little scam has been ongoing for more than 15 YEARS now !! )

What is sauce for the goose, etc. !!
