oops, loose cylinder liner

i pulled the heads on my 2.5l V6 today, and before i
put on a liner keeper i found one was loose already.
Doh! so i may have gotten a little water into the
bottom end (fortunately almost all of the cooling
jacket was dry). 

what do i need to do to make sure the o-ring doesn't
leak when i put everything back together? replace it?
if so, where do i find those o-rings (i haven't yet
seen them in a catalog that i'm aware of).

there's about 97k miles on this engine, is there
anything on the bottom end i should check while i'm
mucking about? maybe replace piston rings (and check
gooves on pistons for excess wear)?

and while i'm at it, what parts need to be replaced
when doing a synchro job on the transmission? rings
and sleeves? or one or the other?
