GTV6 plastic

I could be wrong, but I believe the tea tray and some of the other plastic
material of the trim (ground FX, air dam, etc.) was never actually black, but
a steely and slightly metallic looking charcoal gray color. This color was
also used for a time (including 1984) on the center part of the OEM wheels,
and on my example, on the part of the paintwork below the side bumper strip
and above the rocker panels, between the wheel wells. I have heard from a
(former) GTV6 owner that there was once upon a time a Mazada color that
matched this exactly and was available more easily, in small spray cans.
More pressing, to me, is the fact that some of the plastic parts seem to
actually shrink over time, and that the clips and square plastic connectors
break off.
