Re: Hagerty insurance
When I bought my 73 gtv a couple of weeks ago, I tried
to get it insured with Hagerty. Their rate quoted on
their web site was great ($90/year) and their customer
service on the phone was very helpful and courteous.
However, they are very strict about insuring cars that
are used only for weekend driving/shows etc.. I asked
for a policy with 6000mi/year and they declined it.
They said that a typical policy is 2500mi/year. When
I asked them if I could drive the car to work every
once in a while they responded that about once every
two months is ok... This kind of policy wouldn't work
for me so I ended up adding the car to my regular AAA
insurance for about $250/year...
Cheers,
Vangelis
