RE: Thinner headgaskets

Hi All,

Is it possible to have a custome made headgasket that is thinner than
the stock one to raise compression? How do you deal with the rubber
o-rings ?
Just curious.
Thanks

Yes, of course, almost anything is possible, but practical is another
matter. It would be volumes easier and cheaper to mill the heads. The only
way to make a thinner gasket effectively would be:

1. IF the gasket is a metal sandwich, two piece of gasket around a metal
core.
2. IF you had a friend that worked for the manufacturer, or had a lot of
money to spend.
3. They could substitute a thinner metal core. This was the standard method
for the 70-80s VW Diesel.
4. Get thinner o-rings.
