May Smithsonian

The May issue of Smithsonian magazine contains an article about the Mille
Miglia. Before you rush out and buy a copy, however, be warned that not
once is Alfa Romeo mentioned in the text. Lots of talk about Mercedes (2
wins) and BMW (1 win in a cobbled up circuit race) and Porsche (0 wins) and
Ferrari but no Alfa (with 10 wins i think?). There is one photo of a 1750
(?) at speed with a caption that notes that Alfa took 8 or the first 10
places in 19?? but fails to mention that Alfa took 10 of the first 10 one
year.

Smithsonian has never been real good with automotive history. They are the
ones who believed and could not be convinced otherwise that Enzo Ferrari
spent WWI as Francesco Baracca's airplane mechanic.
