I should have included the reason for setting ignition timing on TDC at 
idle is because with less total advance, if you set the ignition timing at 
the M(ax) mark, the engine will have too much advance in the middle of the 
rev range, and you'll get predetonation.  The TDC mark is a good starting 
place, and you get pretty close the M timing mark at 5000rpm.  Of course, 
you can advance or retard to suit the octane of gas you are running.
