Re: Milano Oil Question ...

Hi Fellow Verde Owner-
Don't know how many miles on your engine, but if it is a recent rebuild,
give it about 1,000 miles with something like Castrol 20w50 to seat the
rings. Then, either stick with Castrol 20w50 or make the change to
synthetic. I use Mobil ! 15w50 in my Duetto with a recently rebuilt 2000
engine. It seems to use somewhat less oil with the synthetic than it did
with the Castrol 20w50. Since my Milano had 92k on the clock when I bought
it, I decided to stay with Castrol. It uses very little oil anyway. Really,
you can't go wrong with a modern SF or SJ spec. multigrade oil if you change
it every 4k to 5k miles. If you have a turbo, on the other hand, there is a
real need for a synthetic because of the very high bearing temperatures.
Porsche strongly recommends Mobil 1 in their turbo models.
