Hi,

The knocking front suspension sound is most likely the lower front
arms. They're not too expensive and have a tendency to give way at
about 50,000 miles. try www.alfaowner.com for info on the 145 front
suspension (go to the alfa 155 forum). The front suspension of the
145,146,155 are similar.
