RE : GTV 6 L-jet questions

Curtis,
I did the same swap two years ago, 87 engine in 82 car. I have several
comments and questions.
Did you upgrade the injection harness and brain box or are you using
the 2.5 L harness? It will run with the old parts but I'm told it gets a
little
lean at higher RPMs. Some believe there are some performance gains to
be had by using the correct box and harness.
Also, I noted that my fuel pump only runs when the key is on AND the flapper
door in the airflow meter is open. I believe this is a safety feature in case
of an accident, the pump stops. Lastly, that little ground wire on the water
pump is important. That housing occasionally gets isolated from the rest of
the housing
due to thick gaskets. If that happens and the ground is not connected, the
thermo-time
switch that regulates the cold start injector will not function, making cold
starts difficult.
