Re: GTV (4 cyl) Question

This might help. Years ago I had the same problem with my Spider. It turned
out to be a bad ground for the points. The wiring was all okay but the
points actually ground through this little aluminum block under the mounting
plate in the distributor and it had gotten corroded. It was so weird because
if you just touched something or jiggled the wires you'd be back in
business - for awhile.

<The symptoms are identical - cruising along at highway
<speeds (80-ish +/-) and suddenly the engine dies, I am
<able to coast to the side and the car will not
<restart. First time this happened I tried to think
<through what was and wasn't happening - engine turning

<presto, chango - the car started.

<Any words of wisdom?
